Election 2008 (Now with 20% more excitement and the usual level of horseshit)

Strap yourself in folks, the election season has long been underway since it started what seems to be 3 years ago but its now hitting its usual eye rolling stride. These past few weeks have been a pretty fun adventure with mistruths and lack of truths being bounced back and for like a super delegate's commitment (I'm disgusted with myself for that line so you don't have to be...)

Can you believe that John McCain had an affair with a lobbyist?!?!?! Yeah me too, is there anyone in Washington this side of well, anyone, that is above suspicion for infidelity? It is also nice to see that the NY Times is back to its usual stance of running stories without any evidence, I'm sure Jayson Blair and Wen Ho Lee are nodding their heads in approval somewhere.

Another fantastic story is that the Tennessee GOP was including a photo of Obama wearing regional garb during a trip to Somalia and referring to his full name in every press release it sent out. I forget what his middle name was though, either Anthony or Hussein, whatever. Anyways it's always pleasant to see that campaigning can go grassroots; grassroots being tactics similar to ones I used to win an office my senior year at Sacred Heart High School. I gathered all of my integrity and then attacked my opponent for "having too many consonants in her last name", true story. If we were going to rank that Somalian style photo I'd say its impact would be a bit closer to this picture...

It's gotta be the shoes!

The Spike Lee event ended with a student bringing up an orange Nike box with Spike saying "Are those Spizikes?!" Just in case anyone was curious what Spizike's were and looked like here you go...

...Spike was in a series of maybe the greatest commercials of all time when he played the Mars Blackmon character in commercials pushing Air Jordans. The Spizike's are a combination of the earliest editions and if you're a sneaker loser like me you can notice them. Anyways here's one of the commercials...

Plymouth Rock Studios

I think one of the more interesting developments occurring in my town lately is the big push to build a movie studio in South Plymouth. Apparently they want to make the studio the largest on this side of the Mississippi. I'm not really sure how this would work or how it would affect the town but it should be interesting going forward.

They named the push Project: Julia, as in Julia Roberts. The hope is to eventually draw in actors on her level. My only issue is that its being principally financed by Good News Holdings which makes "faith based entertainment films." I'm not sure if you've seen any of those lately but Roberts' "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" was not primarily lifted from Leviticus.

Methinks that your Plymouth A-List consists of Kirk Cameron and Kirk Cameron...

Is this thing on?

...ah...testing, one...two

...well I've got nothing worth saying other than I will not be able to deliver the persuasive rhetoric you find from David Thompson here,

...there will be some substance at some point...
